The main role of the “Parent Grade Representatives” is to build strong working relationships among parents, teachers and the school, in support of students and to resolve any issues that may occur during the course of the year.
Every grade has representatives from each class.
Each “Parent Grade Representative” is “chosen” annually at the beginning of the school year by parents of that class.
The “Parent Grade Representatives” and The Director of Development and Admissions, will promote opportunities to network with other parents of that grade, to provide broad, balanced opinions on issues.
The “Parent Grade Representatives Meetings” provide a forum for frank discussion of issues that pertain to grades KG I through to Grade Ten (the students studying for the “International Baccalaureate Diploma” will have their own forum). It will also provide an opportunity to organize events, functions and help for that grade and the wider community.
“Parent Grade Representatives” meet at least twice a year with The Director of Development and Admissions and the “Key Staff” responsible for that particular grade.
A member of “The Parents’ Association Committee” with a child in that grade also joins the meetings. Each parent and “Parents Association Committee” representative can only represent one year group.
Minutes are taken of each meeting and published on the school’s website.
“The Parents’ Association Committee” along with “The Director of Development and Admissions”, monitors the minutes of the meetings and brings to the attention of “The Parents’ Association Committee” any items that may need further discussion at their next meeting.
