Dear Parents,

Following the recent staggered start for Ministerial Schools, The Sultan’s School, in consultation with the Ministry Of Education have been decided that the starting date for students in The Sultan’s School Early Years and Primary (Pre-Kg to Year 6) will be delayed for one more week until Saturday 3rd October.

As our younger students are more vulnerable due to the family gatherings during Eid, the delay will allow a 7 day incubation period for any students who may have travelled outside of Oman during this time.  We hope that you have all been able to access the E-Learning at www.tssnet.org.  One more week’s worth of e-learning will be available by Saturday 26th September for your children.

School will resume for all Secondary students (Years 7 to 13) on Saturday 26th September.  Normal school hours are:

Advice for parents:

• If your child is unwell keep them at home to reduce the risk of spreading Infections.  Do not allow them to return to school until they have been free of symptoms for 2 days.
• Make sure your child washes their hands frequently with soap and water and then dries their hands thoroughly with their own hand towel.  A medicated hand sanitizer after washing, or when washing is not available, is also recommended.
• Make sure you and your child washes their hands prior to touching their eyes, nose and mouth.
• Encourage your child to cover their mouth and nose with disposable tissues when coughing and sneezing.
• Encourage your child to dispose of used tissues immediately.
• Encourage your child not to share items such as drink bottles, cups, toys or anything which could be contaminated with respiratory secretions.
• Try and maintain at least one metre distance from people who have flu-like symptoms such as coughing or sneezing.
• Make sure your child drinks plenty of fluids and keeps healthy with fruit and vegetables.
• Consult your doctor if your child has a cough and fever and follow their instructions, including giving medicine as prescribed. Medical intervention at the early stages usually result in the patient having mild symptoms and able to recover at home.
• If your child has flu-like symptoms and you go to a medical clinic telephone beforehand so that they can arrange for them to be seen away from other people.

أعزائي أولياء الامور،

نظراً لتاجيل بدء العام الدراسي للمدارس الحكومية، و بعد أستشارة وزارة التربية و التعليم قررت أدارة المدرسة أن يتم تأجيل بدء العام الدراسي لطلبة السنوات المبكرة و المرحلة الابتدائية ( من السنة الاولى الى السنة السادسة) لمدة اسبوع آخر، حيث ستبدأ السنة الدراسية في يوم السبت 3 أكتوبر 2009.

ان التلاميد الاصغر عمراً يكونون اكثر عرضة بسبب التجمعات العائلية خلال العيد، هذا التاخير لمدة اسبوع سوف يوفر الراحة للطفل إذا كان مسافراً خارج السلطنة خلال اجازة العيد.

نحن نتمنى ان تكونوا جميعاً قد تمكنتم من الاستفادة من برنامج التعلم عن بعد المتوفر على الموقع الالكتروني www.tssnet.org.

سيتم تحديث موقع التعليم عن بعد يوم السبت 26 سبتمبر و ذلك بتوفير مجموعة جديدة من الدروس لطلبة المرحلة الابتدائية.

بالنسبة لطلبة المرحلة الثانوية ( السنوات 7-13) سيعودون الى المدرسة يوم السبت 26 سبتمبر 2009، ساعات الدوام ستكون كالتالي:

7.55 صباحاً جرس الانذار، مدّرسو الرايادة موجودون في الصفوف.

8.00 صباحاً حصة الريادة

8.13 صباحاً مدّرسو الرياده يقودون الطلبة الى تحية العلم.

8.17 صباحاً تحية العلم

8.25 صباحاً الحصة الاولى

9.05 صباحاً الحصة الثانية

9.45 صباحاً الحصة الثالثة

10.25 صباحاً فسحة الصباح

10.45 صباحاً الحصة الرابعة

11.25 صباحاً الحصة الخامسة

12.05 بعد الظهر الحصة السادسة

12.45 بعد الظهر الحصة السابعة
