Dear Parents,

We are pleased to inform you that we have extended the deadline for submitting the selection of IB subjects to Sunday 1^st April. This will allow students to use the end-of-term break to select their desired subjects without the pressure of schooling.

 

Please refer to the following points as you guide your son/daughter through the selection process:

 

• Students are able to select their desired subjects that will match their prospective programme in the University. However, we would like to advise students to be realistic in their selection and try to choose subjects that match their ability and potential.

 

If you wish to make a combination that does not fit the form – please do tick the subject you need and then write the reasons in the box at the back of the form.  We will do our very best to accommodate you.

 

• We would like to advise that HL Mathematics is a very challenging and demanding course that will require advanced mathematical skills and interest. Students are allowed to select HL Mathematics if they are achieving a B grade or above in their current assessment and also maintain the same level of achievement in the final IGCSE exams. However, we will recommend it only for students with careers aspiration that requires such level of Mathematics; further details regarding courses and Universities that require HL Mathematics can be obtained from our Careers Officer Dr. Adnan Fzea (email: adnanf@sultansschool.org). We will look at each students request based on the students’ needs and merits.

 

• The school will not guarantee the approval of your selections, but we will make every effort to respond positively in order to offer you the desired subjects.

الموضوع: المساندة في اختيار مواد السنة 12

يسرنا إعلامكم بأننا قمنا بتمديد موعد تسليم خيارات مواد برنامج البكالوريا الدولية ليوم الأحد 1 أبريل. هكذا، يمكن للطلاب استخدام أيام العطلة لاختيار موادهم المفضلة دون ضغط الأعمال المدرسية.

خلال عملية الانتقاء، نرجو منكم مراجعة النقاط الآتية واستخدامها كدليل لإرشاد أبنائكم:

• إن الطلاب قادرون على اختيار موادهم المفضلة التي تتماشى مع برنامج دراستهم المرتقبة في الجامعة. ولكننا ننصحهم بأن يكونوا واقعيين في اختياراتهم، وأن يختاروا المواد الملائمة لقدراتهم.

إذا اردتم مزج مواد لا مكان لها في الاستمارة، الرجاء وضع إشارة قرب المادة المعنية، ثم كتابة أسباب ذلك داخل المربع في الجهة الخلفية للاستمارة. وسنعمل جهدنا لتلبية رغبتكم.

• نلفت انتباهكم إلى أن مادة الرياضيات HL (عالي المستوى) متطلبة جداً، وتحتاج إلى مستوى متقدم من المهارة والاهتمام. يسمح للطلاب باختيار هذه المادة إذا حققوا درجة B أو أعلى في تقييمهم الحالي، وأيضاً في الامتحانات النهائية للشهادة العامة الدولية للتعليم الثانوي (IGCSE). إلا أننا ننصح بأن يختار هذه المادة فقط من يطمح إلى مهنة تتطلب هذا المستوى العالي من الرياضيات. يمكنكم الحصول على معلومات أكثر تفصيلاً حول الدورات والجامعات التي تتطلب مادة الرياضيات HL من المرشد الجامعي في المدرسة، الدكتور/ عدنان فزع (البريد الإلكتروني adnanf@sultansschool.org). سننظر في خيارات كل طالب استناداً إلى احتياجاته وإنجازاته.

• لا تقدم المدرسة ضماناً بالموافقة على خياراتكم، ولكننا سنعمل قصارى جهدنا ليكون ردنا إيجابياً ولتحصلوا على موادكم المطلوبة.
