Once
again, it’s been a busy start to the year for Grades
11 and 12…
…Our
Head Boy (Fayyadh Al Samarah) and Head Girl (Samiya Al Sharji)
have begun their duties and have so far proven to be responsible
and reliable role models; many students have volunteered
for Prefect duties and nine Grade 12 students have taken
on the responsibility of ‘Prefect team leaders’;
we have elected our House Captains, Student Council representatives
and Charity representatives and all are already planning
for a full and interesting year ahead; Grade 11 are taking
a particularly prominent role in the organisation of our
National Day celebrations while Grade 12 begin preparations
for their own yearbook. And it’s only September!
With
all of this activity, it’s worthwhile remembering
that our students have a very important academic year ahead
of them, too. Grade 11 are facing the challenge of the new
IB courses as Grade 12 prepare for their Al Thanawiya’ama
examinations and University applications. I, along with
their teachers and Homeroom tutors, will be monitoring them
closely to ensure that they are achieving their potential
but I would also like to remind all parents and students
that you are welcome to contact me if you have any concerns.
Here’s
looking forward to a year of exciting challenges, personal
achievements and success.
Ms
Carol.
