Twenty-nine
ALC students finished their studies in June and are now enrolled
on courses at top-class universities in UK or Australia. As
in all previous years of the ALC's operation, the exam results
in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry were at the highest
level. As the chart shows, more than half the results were
Grade ‘A’s and 86% were either Grade ‘A’
or ‘B’. In maths, the results were particularly
good, with 79% of students achieving Grade A and all students
gaining either grade ‘A’ or ‘B’.

Good knowledge of science does not guarantee
success in higher education in English medium universities.
To complement success in their science studies, the students
also achieved the best English results we have ever had. On
a scale that goes up to Band 9, the level of an educated native
speaker, Jabir Al Farsi scored a Band 8, a tremendous achievement
for a student whose basic English was learned in a government
school. Five others achieved Band 7 or above.
All
in all, this is another demonstration of the excellent results
that the ALC has achieved with hard-working, dedicated staff,
and motivated students who are given the chance to achieve
their full potential. |
