Oliver
Blake is the most recent addition to the staff at The Sultan’s
School. He is here on a three month placement organized
by the Anglo-Omani society based in London. The Society
helps expats who have moved back to the UK keep in touch
with each other and Oman through numerous talks, dinners
and trips (www.oman.org.uk/).
Born
in Muscat, Oliver lived in the Persian Gulf including the
U.A.E, Bahrain and Kuwait for 14 years whilst being educated
at Fettes Collge, Scotland. Oliver was recently awarded
a BA Hons 1st Class in Politics, specializing in Middle
Eastern Studies, from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne.
He
was sponsored by the British Army through university and
represented the Northumbrian Universities Officer Training
Corps at Hockey, Rugby and Skiing. He is returning to the
UK to take up a place at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst
in January where his training will last a year before being
posted to his Regiment.
A
keen sportsman, Oliver has been helping out in the PE department
where he has enjoyed working with a highly motivated, enthusiastic
and dedicated team.
