The Last Word

As the end of another busy year draws near, I have the time to reflect on all of the events that have happened this year. Every month we have had a major, cultural, musical, sporting or international event taking place. The school is certainly a very busy and lively place to be during the whole of the school year. The schedule has been so hectic at times that we have had to buy an extra camera to be able to record all of the events, some of which happened simultaneously. Great credit must go to all of our dedicated staff, students and volunteers who miraculously seem to be able to pull these events off one after the other without losing any academic pace or tempo.

All of this activity attracts a huge amount of attention from the local and the international community. Our award winning website, is a window into our world and a portal to our community. The "Contact Us" page can regularly generate 100+ emails a week from all over the globe, from people who want information on the school to those who wish to keep in touch.

Admissions have been at a record level this year with over 400 applications and we are quickly approaching capacity. A very encouraging aspect of the applications has been the large number of students who wish to join our IGCSE and International Diploma courses. Many of these students are drawn from the international community and will add another dimension to our school population.

Two of our aims for next year are to build on the very encouraging and enthusiastic start that the Parent Grade Representatives have made and also galvanize the Alumni into an association with true altruistic objectives. We are looking into a web based solution to uniting our ex-students, creating opportunities for cooperation and communication.

Lastly may I wish you all a peaceful and relaxing summer!
