As
music is becoming increasingly popular at The Sultan’s School
with a real “Singing bug” amongst the students, we
would like to announce two very exciting forthcoming events in
December of this year and March 2007. The School will be performing
a musical concert in December which will host an array of talented
musicians performing a variety of solo and ensemble items on a
range of different instruments. There will also be several choral
numbers of “Golden Oldie” hits featuring solo vocalists
accompanied by a backing choir.
We have recently been holding auditions for a senior “Boys'
Choir”, to add to the dynamics of the department. This is
quite a “prestigious” choir with a wide range of voices
to suit the music. We are hopeful that the choir will be performing
in the December Concert and confident that we may be invited to
perform at Embassy residences and singing competitions.
In March 2007 we will be performing the musical of “Oliver
Twist” which will involve both Secondary and Primary pupils
from the school. This is quite a demanding show for the students
with many prestigious “main” parts
but also an exciting opportunity for the students to work together
in order to achieve what will undoubtedly be a fantastic show.
We look forward to your company and hope that you will enjoy every
aspect of each performance.
