From The Head Of Primary

Even though we are only a few weeks in to this second semester quite a lot seems to have happened. Several classes have been on Educational Visits that have ranged from days with the Royal Oman Navy to Beach Days at Al Sawadi. Within the next few weeks all the classes should have been on at least one visit with many more planned.

The biggest venture as far as Primary students are concerned will be the Grade 6 Residential Visit to an Outdoor Education Centre in Fujarah. In the next newsletter some of the students attending this visit will give you their thoughts on what will hopefully become a regular inclusion on the Grade 6 calendar.

Both the Field Days were very successful and thanks go to the PE staff for organising both days and the students for their exemplary behaviour and attitude towards both events.

A major area of focus during this semester will be the ‘Year – Group’ changes that will be introduced in August. The only students affected will be the younger students entering the school for the first time. It is proposed to hold a series of meetings for Parents where certain issues will be discussed that will hopefully make the introduction of these changes as smooth as possible for all concerned.

I look forward to meeting some of you at these meetings.

Best regards

Ian Jones
Head of Primary
