From the Head of Lower Primary

And so my second year at The Sultan’s School begins and it has proved to be a very exciting and fun-packed year already. The children have got off to a racing start with their work. Judging by the displays seen around the Lower Primary buildings, they have already been hard at work in class. It is always nice for children from other grades to see the work of their peers, and perhaps remember back to the time when they did something similar!

Recently the children have been preparing for "Tree Day" where they were able to bring a plant to school to help brighten our environment. We now have a fine exhibition of art work, done mostly with the efforts and guidance of Miss Hajer (Grade 4 class teacher) and Mrs Kim Ross, our new specialist art teacher for grades 1 to 4. I hope you will enjoy a tiny taste of this work from the pictures below.

Other areas of our department look fairly familiar....with the boys still football crazy!

And the girls pursuing slightly more genteel playtime activities!

Science

On the 4th November 2007, the children were treated to a show by the ‘Quantum Science Theatre Group’ entitled “The Big Drip”, a story about materials and their properties. The children thoroughly enjoyed the performance and had a great time joining in with the actors, cheering the good guys and shouting at the baddies!

Finally may I close by wishing you and your families all the blessings of the coming festive seasons.
