Annual Charity Bingo Night
On the evening of Wednesday the 8th of December Grade 9 students worked hard organising and hosting the annual charity bingo night:
Who? Grade 9 hosted Grade 6 students.
What? BINGO evening
Where? School Auditorium
When? December 8th, 6 - 8p.m.
Why? To raise money for charity.
How much? RO122.500 was raised for charity
There were fancy prizes donated by the Grade 9 students for the winning rounds, sweets and prizes on each table to share and later in the night there was pizza and soda to ease
ease the grumbling stomachs! Many thanks to Mr. Don for being the caller and doing such a great job, as well as other teachers who gave their time to help the evening run smoothly: Mrs. Bowker, Mrs. Laura, Ms Larissa, Ms Cordie, Mrs. Alison, Mr. Clark, Mr. Don, Ms Michelle and Mr. Birchall.

The students all had a great time, and when the call came to round up the amount of money raised, these students dipped deep into their pockets to raise an amazing RO122.500 for the school charity fund.

A fun and very successful evening for all concerned.
Thank you and well done!

The School’s Community Service Group has been actively involved with a number of projects this year:
Collection for the Orphans: last semester, Elementary students placed collection boxes in their homerooms to collect money for the orphans at Al Khuwair. A total of RO 249.560 was raised. This will go into the orphan’s own bank accounts. We wish to offer many thanks to the parents and students who supported this worthy cause.

Orphans Visit to the School: a group of 12 boys from the Orphanage visited the school early in the semester. They played soccer with the boy boarders and afterwards they stayed for prayers, supper and games in the boarding house. Many thanks to all the boy boarders who hosted them.

Presentation to Al Wafa Centre:
Besan Aburadwan 7G, Fatma Al Najjar 7W & Fatma Al Ghussany 7R recently visited Al Nadha Hospital. They met with two deaf students and one adult from the Al Wafa Centre in Bid Bid, who were being fitted for hearing aids. The students presented a cheque to pay for these hearing aids: the money was raised by students at a recent non-uniform day.
Sensory Room at the Early Intervention Centre: Areej al Saleh 12G, Areej Al Maskery 12B, Amira Al Bahri 11B, Ameera Al Lawatia 11B, Fatma Makki 11B, Ali Sultan 11B, Nasr Al Saleh 11B & Tarik Al Ghafri 11B finished the design and construction of a sensory room/soft area for the Early Intervention Centre. The students undertook this project as part of their Bronze International Award certificate and spent a number of weekends decorating the room. Many thanks to them for their commitment, they put a lot of hard work and time into this project. The opening of the room takes place towards the end of December. The money to pay for the project came from fundraising activities within the school.

Qaranqashow Evening at the Intercontinental Hotel: a large number of students offered their assistance with the Qaranqashow evening at the Intercon during Ramadan. The students ran face painting and hair braiding stalls. Others helped out selling raffle tickets and sweets. The money raised from this event went towards the Dar Al Atta charity group. Many thanks to all those students who volunteered.
