Tracking academic progress of students within a school is an important way to help improve the attainment of students within a school. The Sultan’s School supports the importance of academic tracking and as a result we will be assessing students using some online standardised assessments this term. The online assessments contain three short reasoning tasks, each lasting approximately 40 minutes. All students in Years 8, 9 and 11 will be taking the standardised assessments.
The assessment results will provide good teaching and learning information that all teachers and coordinators can use within the Secondary School. Students are advised not to prepare for the assessments, but to simply follow the guidance given to them and do their best. The assessments will require the use of headphones; the school will provide these, however students may use their own if they wish. Students will also need a pencil.
